Not really in the spirit of "Protect and Serve", I think this could easily be mistaken for sneaky and rotten

I actually do spot cops like this, it's rare to get to photograph them like this though.

But I circled back to get a shot from across the intersection, to give him a chance at redemption if he wasn't sitting to snipe the oncoming traffic, but that is exactly what he's doing. Big surprise right? Is there anything impossible about a cop hanging out where they can be seen?

Finally, a cop that isn't hiding in the shadows. One that is being bold enough to let the speeders and stop light runners know he's there.

So for the first time in 6 years of posting photos of police behaving badly, I can applaud the motorcycle cop here for standing out from the worst behaving cops you'll hear about, the vast majority that I've photographed parking in the streets, not the parking spots, smoking cigars in their cop car at a gas pump, parking against the traffic pattern,  radar gunning from the shade where they are hard to see, and all the rest.

Some photos remind me of others.... the NYPD airplane at Bennett Field reminded me of the SDFD Aerial Truck

Top photo from http://www.scoutingny.com/ I'm pretty sure

maybe you see why. The bottom photo is from the Clairemont Fire Department wall of interesting photos http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/09/betcha-never-heard-of-aerial-truck.html and you can see that it's an "Aerial Truck" and I didn't make that up... and that has been posted for over a year and I've never had a comment about the term Aerial Truck yet. I still think it's pretty odd.
